Holiday Pin Up Girl Look

For my last Winter holiday festivities in high school I dressed up in a modern simple black dress with white polk a dots and to make it a more festive and retro look I dolled up my eyes with winged liner on top of a flesh tone eyeshadow all over and a light brown in the crease for depth and some mascara to top it off. For my lips I went for a Christmas red with my go to Mac 'Ruby Woo' lipstick. Happy Holidays everyone! :)

Peacock theme (challenge)

For today's challenge I did a Peacock themed bright smokey eye defined by some winged liner. I used my coastal scents 88 original palette for the vibrant and colorful eyeshadow, as well as wet n' wild liquid black liner, and Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara. To try something new I wore Maybelline lip gloss in freshly sliced for a neutral lip. I had a lot of fun with this one since blue, purple, and green are my top 3 favorite colors in that order!

Purple Lips/Dark lips (challenge)

The challenge for today was dark lips which I thought was a great opportunity to show off my purple lipstick 09 by Rimmel London's Kate Moss lipstick line! In truth I am in love this color but don't have the courage to wear it out since its not a very popular look. Even red lips are
intimidating to wear out sometimes but purple is a whole new level of bold that I love! It's a fun look though that I especially love with winged liner! Like a goth meets retro sort of look. If you're feeling bold in the lip department I really recommend this product especially for the darker winter looks!

Colored Liner (challenge)

For the other challenge that I had for today from the second calendar I did 'colored liner' with a blue glitter liner by Claire's along with a Revlon navy eyeshadow. I chose blue because it's my favorite color and makes brown eyes stand out more than usual for an eye-catching effect that I love!

Frosted Pink Lips

Hey everyone! I've recently taken on two makeup challenge calendars for the month of December even though I started late, better late then never! So I'll be posting twice a day for a while which is a little difficult but fun to try out and keep up with! This one to start off a few days late is frosted lips! Not a huge fan at all with the sparkles and weird grainy texture but I went with Revlon's Lip Butter 'Peach Parfait' to compromise as a lightly frosted lip.

Black Lips (Goth/Black Friday)

About two months ago I had a vintage eyeshadow compact my grandmother gave me that was very cute and girly and among the light colored shadows was an old eyeliner gel formula. It was not very useful since it creased and was very oily so I tried out the black lips trend with a smokey eye to match. It was a pretty gothic and dark look to try out and I debate whether I truly like it or not. Regardless, I'll never wear it out in public, its just too much bold for me to handle! Even though I didn't hunt for bargains on Black Friday I figured I'd post a tribute to all those dedicated shoppers today and hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! :)

Jubilee/British Flag Lip Art!

For this fun lip art look I exfoliated, moisturized, and concealed my lips as a based and put white eyeshadow all over. Then I used a thin angle brush to add in the red and blue stripes of the flag. I had seen my school's theatre production of Jane Austen's 'Sense & Sensibility' over the weekend and felt inspired to do this idea. It wasn't the easiest thing to do but it was fun and silly throughout the process :)

Panda Lips (lip art)

Hey guys, so for this post I thought I'd add some more lip art to add to the watermelon lips on the blog. A while back I saw some lip art that included an adorable panda so I thought I'd try it out and have even more fun with it by making funning faces with my abnormally small teeth! Normally I'm self conscious about them but to hell with insecurity! I own this smile and won't hide it if I'm happy! :)

I just used some Vaseline about 10 minutes before hand so my lips were moisturized before putting on white eyeshadow and liquid liner in them which made it very easy and simple!

Wonder Woman! (Halloween costume!)

This year for Halloween I went as Wonder Woman and I decided to wear it loud and proud with golden and natural eyeshadows. I used Urban Decay's half baked, naked, smog, and virgin from my naked palette along with Mac blacktrack fluid line gel liner and wet n wild liquid liner on top for a long lasting, dark, and clean winged liner. For mascara I used Rimmel London Lash Accelerator and Lancôme Hypnose drama. For the lips I used a Rimmel London red lip crayon liner and Mac's Russian Red and Ruby Woo lipsticks :) by far my favorite costume/character ever!!

Day of the Dead/Sugar Skull look

Today I celebrated Day of the Dead/Dia de Los Muertos at the hollywood cemetery, so to dress up for the occasion I painted my face half pin up and half sugar skull. I was pressed for time so I didn't get into any crazy details do this is a rather simple look. I used Wet N' Wild liquid liner for my pinup eyes with Mac blacktrack fluid line on both sides for the skull details and liner. I even added baby powder to my bare lashes on my left eye to make them stand out against the black makeup of the eye. I used Mac's Ruby Woo lipstick and Rimmel London's red lip liner along with aveeno tinted moisturizer and a face paint kit from CVS.

Blue Cut Crease

For this look I tried out the cut crease style which I personally would never really wear in public but it's definitely a fun and bold makeup fashion statement. I used my favorite palette of blue eyeshadows from Wet N' Wild's 'Blue Had me at Hello' palette and my go to mascaras, Rimmel London lash accelerator and Maybelline falsies flared.

Greek Goddess

For another fun Halloween costume I decided to do a Goddess look using my Urban Decay Naked Palette with half baked, buck, and virgin eyeshadows and Mac blacktrack fluid line gel liner. I actually have a white dress with gold accents below the bust but couldn't find it so I just grabbed my gold belt to go with the look! It's definitely a warm toned and beautiful look with eye-catching natural colors. Any variation of this is fun to do so long as the colors are brown, taupe, gold and flesh tones. For the lips I'm wearing Revlon lip butter in peach parfait.

Lip Art-Watermelon Lips

So for the first time I attempted lip art and for my first design choice I went with watermelon lips in both pink and red! Lip art is pretty interesting and even a little bit strange but I'll try to do some more in the future on occasion. For this I used Loreal's 'tender pink' lipstick and Revlon's lip butter in 'red velvet.' For the green I used an eyeshadow from my coastal scents 88 original palette and for the seeds I used Wet N' Wild's liquid liner in black.

Fall/Autumn Look

Now that the LA heat wave is finally gone I figured it was time for a fall look focusing on the lips. In the last fall look I did I focused on matching the flower but this one is more of an everyday look. Fall lip colors are usually a burgundy, red brick, and wine based colors and for more of a fashion statement look like on runways the lips are sometimes even purple. For this I focused on a more berry and wine colored lip which gives a very mature look. The lipstick I used was also in the last look which is 'berrywine' by Kirkland. I also used my Urban Decay Naked palette for neutral colors but for fall you can use brown smokey eyes, purples, greys, and taupe looks of all kinds on the eyes as well.

Autumn Color Look

This year fall seems to still have some heat leftover from summer (in Los Angeles at least!) but that doesn't mean you can't wear autumn colored makeup! This is a rather soft and colorful look but my main goal was to match my plumeria hair clip which happens to suit the seasonal colors. For this I used yellow, orange, red, & light pink flesh tone colors from my 88 original coastal scents palette with some Milani black crayon eyeliner, Maybelline Falsies Mascara and Rimmel London lash Accelerator mascara along with some Kirkland lipstick in 'berrywine.'

Comic Book Look (Pop Art)

This look is inspired by the women who are always crying for men in comic books though I never knew why, but then again men/women and love break our hearts all the time, plus I never actually read any comic books sadly! This look was fun but took a while to get right and the dots were tedious and difficult. Definitely one of my most challenging looks executed to date.

I used Cover Girl pressed foundation in ivory, Revlon's 'Love That Red' lipstick for the dots, Mac's 'Russian Red' on the lips with Rimmel London's red lip liner, Loreal's black liquid liner for the eyes, contouring, lips and eyebrows, and a profusion palette for the blue tears and white spot on the lips.

Urban Decay 1st Naked Palette Look

Hi guys, meet my best friend Melissa! We celebrated my 18th birthday having a sleepover and did a makeover with my new Urban Decay 'Naked Palette.' I put 'half baked' on her lids, 'smog' in the crease, 'sidecar' in the inner corner, and 'virgin' on her brow bone. Though she is already blessed with beautiful long eyelashes I put on some Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara and Mac False Lashes mascara. For the winged liner I used Wet N' Wild's black liquid liner. She's wearing Loreal's 'tender pink' lipstick. Thanks for being my model/victim and for being my best friend for over a decade! Love you!

18th birthday/signature look :)

First off I just want to thank everyone who made my 18th birthday so special with balloons, decorating my locker, texts, calls, Facebook messages, brownies, and gift cards to Sephora. I love all my family and friends and thank you for all your love and support!! :)

For this look I just went with my go to look for a daytime special occasion which is the Naked 2 palette eyeshadows by Urban Decay with 'verve' on the eyelid, 'suspect' in the crease' and 'foxy' on the browbone. For the eyeliner I used Wet N' Wild liquid black liner and for mascara I used Rimmel London Lash Accelerator and Maybelline Falsies Flared.

Classic Vampire

For another Halloween look I went with a classic vampire with the widow's peak, smokey eyes, and blood red lips all with pale skin. For the skin I used a pressed powder in ivory by Cover Girl. Then I used Maybelline studio gel liner for the widow's peak. For the eyes I used Urban Decay Naked 2 palette using pistol, blackout and verve with Mac blacktrack gel liner and Milani crayon eyeliner in black around the eyes. For the lips I used Mac Ruby Woo lipstick with Revlon lip butter in candy apple for the dripping blood effect.

Black Swan

Since Halloween is only a month away I've started doing some looks for the upcoming occasion and started with the famous Black Swan makeup that Natalie Portman wore. I outlined the shape and feathers with a Rimmel London white eyeliner and traced it with black liquid liner. In between I filled in the feathers with a silvery grey eyeshadow and blended the shadow and liner at the ends. For the lips I used Mac Ruby Woo lipstick blended with my Milani black crayon eyeliner and Revlon Midnight Swirl lip gloss. For the skin I used a pale pressed powder in ivory by Cover Girl all over with L'oreal Paris true match blush in warm fusion parfaite for a hollow effect below my cheekbones.

Sunset Scene

In honor of the end of Summer 2012 I created a sunset on my eyes. I used a Profusion palette with an orange shadow for the sun, blue for the ocean, a blend of soft purple and pink for the sky and black liquid liner for the palm tree and birds.

Purple Smokey Eyes

During my labor day weekend adventure to Hawaii I bought some plumeria flower pins and decided to do a look based on my purple one. It's a flattering look for people with brown eyes and make them pop! I used my Wet N' Wild Petal Pusher palatte.

Amy Winehouse Look

In honor of the late and talented artist, Amy Winehouse, I recreated her look on myself. What I lacked in my lame attempt at making a beehive hairdo I made up for in her favorite makeup style with big and exaggerated winged liner and light pink lips. I personally prefer a more defined and pointed wing so I made that slight adjustment. I also used my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette using bootycall on my lid, verve in the crease and foxy on the browbone and added a beauty mark.

Zebra Print Eyeshadow

Another animal inspired look I did was zebra print eyeshadow. I used white eyeshadow all over, white eyeliner in the water line by Rimmel London, and L'oreal's black liquid liner for the stripes.

Leopard Print Eyeshadow

Going with my high school's back to school dance theme, "Welcome to the Jungle" a rather appropriate theme especially for incoming Freshmen, I went with a fierce leopard print eyeshadow look and winged liner that extends beyond the inner and outer corners of the eye. For this I used my Wet N' Wild Comfort Zone palette.

Avatar Kyoshi Warrior

This look is inspired by the animated cartoon series 'Avatar, the Last Airbender' on Nickelodeon. The character Suki is known as a Kyoshi warrior and their uniform is a green armor with makeup similar to that of a geisha woman and use fans as their weapons. I loved this show and Suki was a favorite of mine so I recreated her makeup to show my love for the show!

Galaxy Eyes

This look is much like a classic smokey eye only with and added light shimmer effect to appear similar to stars. I used the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay in Pistol and Blackout eyeshadows along with shimmer by NYX.

Dory Makeup!

In honor of the 3D release of Finding Nemo I created a look that makes my eyes look like Dory! Dory was my favorite character in the movie and I had found a challenge online to make a look inspired by a fish and the first thought that came to mind was her!

Day of the Dead Sugar Skull! Dia de los Muertos

This is a traditional look for the Mexican holiday 'Dia de los Muertos' or Day of the Dead to honor those who have passed. It is celebrated at the beginning of every November and part of the tradition is using face paint to appear like an artistic skull that is beautifully decorated. All looks vary ad our unique and this was my first attempt at it myself!

Cleopatra!

Inspired by one of my favorite movies Cleopatra with one of my favorite actresses, Elizabeth Taylor as the historical queen. Like the Eye of Horus look, this one was fairly simple having only used one blue eyeshadow all over and Black liquid liner. A fun fact I learned was Elizabeth Taylor was her own makeup artist for the the film!

Eye of Horus

A while back I went to see the Cleopatra exhibit at the California Science Center and found this beautiful eye of Horus necklace and the gift shop and loved it! I Loved it so much I recreated it in an eye look all in blue!

Feeling the Blues

This is another look from the Wet N' Wild Blue Had Me at Hello palette. This particular really made my medium brown eyes look lighter, almost hazel with a great pop effect! Blue is my favorite color so this was a particularly fun look!

Modern Pin Up Look

This look is an all time classic that's flattering and fun! For this I only used Almay black liquid liner for the wings and Mac Russian Red Lipstick with Revlon's Midnight Swirl Lip Gloss on top for a more modern effect. For a more authentic look I recommend keeping your red lips matte and using a flesh tone colored eyeshadow with light brown eyeshadow in the crease to contour the eyes and give them more depth.

Brown & Bronze Eyes

This look is a more natural and wearable look on a daily basis with the earth tone brown colors. For this one I used Wet N' Wild's Comfort Zone palette, this time without black liquid or gel liner.

Color Block Eyeshadow & Winged Liner

Inspired by the colors of a sunset I used a Profusion palette and Mac's blacktrack fluid line gel liner for the winged liner effect.

60's Twiggy Look

This look is inspired by the notorious 60's model Twiggy who's style was to have black liquid liner on the top lash line and contour the eyelid with heavy mascara on both top and bottom lashes and white eye liner on the waterline and white eyeshadow on the eyelid. I used Almay liquid eyeliner in black, a white pencil liner by Rimmel London, and a light grey eyeshadow from a Sephora palette.

Blue Smokey Eyes

This is a blue version of the smokey eye inspired by the hair clip I bought at the LA County Fair! For this used Wet N Wild's Blue Had Me At Hello palette.

Light Green Smokey Eyes

I'm a big fan of smokey eyes so often times I use different colors for the same style. I used Wet N' Wild's 738 Comfort Zone Palette. This was inspired by my nail art which was kiwis which is shown in the top right photo.

Glittery Blue Winged Eyeliner

For this look I used a glitter liquid liner from Claire's in a bright electric blue that was a birthday present from a friend about two years ago and finally used it! I wanted my brown eyes to pop so blue liner and eyeshadow on the bottom was used to achieve this.

Creative Eyeliner Looks!

This collage has quite a few examples of fun looks with eyeliner. I used Wet N' Wild's black liquid liner to do Fish Eyes, Winged/Retro, Double Wings, Arabian, Eqyptian, Drop Eye, and Edgy Double Lines.

Rainbow Eyes!

This look is one I did a while back for a colorful and fun rainbow effect! I didn't want to go overboard so I made it into an eyeliner look all around the eyes using a palette by Profusion with an angled brush and little black eyeliner below the eyeshadow.
