About & Contact Info
In the Spring of 2012, I started playing with makeup beyond the everyday natural routine and was curious on how certain looks and trends would look on someone like me, a woman of color, a Latina! Having a background in fine art and theater I wanted to explore a new genre of art, one in which the face becomes the canvas, and so I created Latina Beauty Blog!
Since makeup was new to me and I decided to get educated and got my certification as a Professional Makeup Artist during the last semester of my high school career. I learned color theory, sanitation, application techniques, the history of makeup from 18th century to present day and how to recreate those period looks, makeup for special occasions, bridal, photography, film, television, fashion advertising, fashion editorials, and fashion for the runway. I learned so much, made great friends along the way and got through it all with the love and support of my friends and family.
Beyond the blog I am a college student pursuing a Bachelor's in Media Arts Design. In the meantime I am also pursuing a career as a Professional Makeup Artist and aspire to become a certified Hairstylist and Special Effects Artist as well.
My mission for this blog is to explore creative and artistic looks using makeup and to share my knowledge and passion for makeup that was passed down to me by my Hispanic relatives, my beauty school education, and overall artistic background.
